One of the teahouses in the garden of Nihonmatsu castle (aka Kasumiga Jo) which was also connected to part of the castle building, was designated one of the province's cultural assets and was moved in the Meiji era.
Originally, the "Sumi Ink Painting Tea House" was in the garden of the castle.
A landslide in Tenpo Year 8 (1837) brought down the "Sumi Tea House" which was moved to the Abukuma River, and then used by the lord when he went fishing. This fishing teahouse was later moved to its present location and renamed "Senshin tei" (Soul-cleansing Teahouse)
