It is said that this onsen opened during Enriki Period, and has a history of about 1,200 years, almost as long as that of Sabakoyu.
In January 2011, we renovated and added a new feature on the outside, a Japanese style pavilion housing a Japanese taiko drum.
The bathrooms are located one floor below ground, one for men and one for women, each having one bath with very hot water continuously pouring directly from the spring as at Iizaka, and another with a perfectly warm blend.
This style of bath you can also enjoy at Senki No Yu and Dosen No Yu.
In addition, next to Hakoyu are historical Hakoyakushi and Otowa No Shimizu. There have been more places developed in the park, with a great atmosphere to enjoy with plants at all seasons; like pavilions, baths for hands, and footbaths.
Bath Ticket Fee:
Adults over 12 years old 300 yen
Children from one to under 12 years old 150 yen
The beneficial effects of the hot spring water are relief from neuralgia, muscle aches, joint pains, sports trauma, bruises, sprains, chronic digestive problems, poor circulation, recovery from illness, fatigue, and overall health improvement.
